Care of your Sex Toy
Posted on June 11th, 2009 No commentsLets face it good personal hygiene is a must and just as you would adopt good care of your intimate parts, so too should you ensure your adult toys are kept clean and tidy. Vibrators, dildos, rabbit vibrators will all build up bacteria in-between uses if you do not keep them squeaky clean. Neglected sex toys will smell and at worst will become mouldy and pass on vaginal infections. Even though you may clean your sex toy between uses try a quick wipe over before each use just to make sure its as clean as you want it to be. If you place silicone dildos in the dishwasher or wash your vibrator in the sink and leave to dry on the side remember to put back in the bedroom before Granny arrives for tea.
A sex toy cleaner will be sufficient for most sex toys. A gel cleaner or toy spray is so easy to use, simply spray and leave or run under warm water after application. The sex toy cleaner has antibacterial properties so hygienic and practical. Silicone dildos with no battery compartment can be placed on the top shelf of the dishwasher or boil washed for a sterile treatment. If your silicone vibrator has a battery compartment which cannot be removed use a toy cleaner as before.
Safe sex applies to sex toys too and you should adopt the same precautions that you would with oral, anal or penetrative sex. If you are unsure that your dildo or vibrator is clean then use a condom or sex toy cover for safety. Sharing sex toys can also spread disease so using a condom on your vibrator is essential before swapping with your partner.
The knicker drawer is a traditional place to hide your sex toys but old socks or a t-shirt are also a handy storage vessel. If you prefer, custom made sex toy bags can be brought as long as the sunlight and dust is kept away from your adult goodies it really doesn’t matter!
